Isla Mujeres, Mexico
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010
We’re back from Mexico now, and over the next few days I’ll be bringing the blog up to date with some of the stuff we got up to while we’re down there, centered on the main locations we visited. We’ll resume regular Vancouver based transmission after that
After hanging out in Cancun like I mentioned last post, we decided to branch out a little and head to Isla Mujeres, a small sand island off the north east coast of the Yucatan peninsula, and reasonably short (or long, if you get the old ferry) trip from Cancun.
We got the old ferry on the way there, and man, did it take it’s sweet time, all the while with the cabin filling up with diesel smoke.
When we got there, it was all worth it, hopping off the boat onto a rikety jetty over a sandy beach, old school market feel on the street, a few bars on the beach, and a beer to cleanse the soul and diesel fumes.
